Sales Manager

Our client has been helping consumers save money since 1984. Over the years, the company has grown and transformed into a multimedia enterprise with national operations and an innovative digital presence. They work directly with a reputable business and provide savers access to savings in their community through our integrated print and digital strategies. They are the destination for offers coupons and deals delivered to nearly 4.5 million homes in the Chicago, Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Twin Cities areas.

Responsibilities:

- Managing retention and sales pipeline with an emphasis on developing new business opportunities.

- Acquire leads from partnerships, existing client interaction, new client relationships, etc.

-Quote, present, and follow up on all sales opportunities until the business is closed and booked.

- Experience meeting and selling to Business owners, high-level decision-makers and develop relationships at multiple leadership levels.

- Coach, mentor, and performance manage direct reports. Ensure proper policies and procedures are developed and followed by the employees under their direction.

- Achieve individual and team revenue growth goals through performance and activity management.

- Managing the business development team, developing a business plan covering sales, revenue, and expense controls, meeting agreed targets and promoting the company presence.

- Provide data and feedback for corrective action as is appropriate, as well as performance reviews.

- Maintain sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors

- Day travel with the Marketing Consultants providing training, coaching, and ongoing support as required

- Help implement the current strategic business plan and help assist in future strategic planning.

- Produce a monthly review, trend reports, and realistic forecasts to the VP of Sales

- Manage all customer losses and assist with the lead generation of accounts

Requirements:

- Proven sales management leadership experience.

- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and/or successful years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Knowledge about direct-mail advertising and prior sales experience - Print media background (yellow page, newspaper)

- Advertising & Marketing experience

- Strong negotiation and closing skills, excellent organization, and reasoning skills.

- B2B sales experience and meeting face to face with clients.

- Able to day travel (will be on the road 4X a week).
